Eko-Konnect To Celebrate Software Freedom Day In LASU: “Why Crack When It's Free"

Eko-Konnect will join the world in the celebration of Software Freedom Day taking place on the 15th September 2018 at the Moot Court, Otunba Ajayi Okunnuga Hall. Faculty of Law, Lagos State University Ojo campus with the aim of increasing awareness of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), and encouraging its use among university students.

The one-day event themed “ Software Freedom Day: “Why Crack When It's Free" will feature a description from a university student about how FOSS has changed her perception about the technology and how she uses FOSS every day in her work. Also, there will be a demonstration of the Installation of the Linux operating system and its environment and the GitLab.

This event will also showcase the use of Python programming for physical computing projects and the GitLab as demonstrations of how FOSS tools are being used in programming and code collaboration and management. Participants interested in installing the Linux OS will have the opportunity to join our Linux Installfest for our LASU Campus Technology Program Interns that will take place after SFD.
